"UX Design" is bogus by Yoni Karpfen

"UX Design" has a lot going for it. The term carries an alluring message, with convincingly righteous overtones. Afterall, no moral person could reject a design philosophy that pays tribute, in its very name, to that ultimate humanistic end: THE EXPERIENCE OF THE USER.

There's only one little problem: user experience can't be designed.

But that doesn't mean you can't design for users. It's just much harder to do than slapping "UX" in front of "Design." So what does it really mean to design for user experience?

  • Touchpoints during production processes
  • Follow-up post-launch

The Evening

It's time for another OKDG event and we've got two awesome speakers lined up for ya! Yoni Karpfen is going to rile you up by declaring that UX Design is bogus and then Dennis Powers is going to follow up with the nitty-gritty on how designers and developers can market themselves. It should be a thoroughly entertaining and thought-provoking evening.

The Bike Shop Cafe and Catering Co. has warmly welcomed us back to use their restaurant as a meeting venue. There will be food, beverages and alcohol available throughout the evening.

Looking forward to seeing you all there!
