Web and mobile accessibility — April 21st 2015

Web and mobile accessibility by Derek Wilson

Derek Wilson (@culturemate) is a Career Development Practitioner with the Neil Squire Society, a national nonprofit organization with a mission to increase the social and economic participation of Canadians with disabilities. He will be demonstrating assistive technology and leading a discussion on digital accessibility, including resources on how to make your websites and apps more accessible.

The goals for this evening's discussion are:

  • Recognize the challenges that some people encounter when working with technology
  • Situate these challenges within the context of digital citizenship
  • Identify guidelines and legislation for the digital world
  • Understand the Business Case for inclusive design
