Grow or Die by Shawnee Love

Grow or die is true in nature and in business, but for freelancers and one man shows, the devil is in finding time and ways to grow. Shawnee will discuss practical strategies and techniques to build personal and professional development into your life.

5 Reasons why your code sucks by Daryl Chymko

Daryl will identify common problems and "smells" in code (and designs and life) and what you can do to remedy them. Using a myriad of examples, he will entertain and delight and you will leave the presentation a better person.

The Evening

First and foremost, we at OKDG HQ would like to give all attendees and our two stellar presenters at the last meetup a virtual standing ovation — much respect!

Our next order of business is proudly announcing the next big event on the evening of November the 20th, 2012. Once again we've got two great speakers lined up for you:

Shawnee Love will start us off by discussing the challenges that freelancers face in finding time and ways to grow, and provide practical strategies and techniques to build personal and professional development into your life.

Next, Daryl Chymko will start us off by identifying common "suck factors" in code (or designs or products) and what you can do to remedy them. Using a myriad of examples, he will entertain and delight, and you will leave the presentation a better person.

The Bike Shop Cafe and Catering Co. has warmly welcomed us back to use their restaurant as a meeting venue. There will be food and your ‘beverages of your choice’ available throughout the evening.

Looking forward to seeing you all there!
Shane and Daryl

Please note the doors open at at 7:30pm and presentations will start at 8:00pm sharp. Please do not show up too early before 7:30pm as we are setting up the room and dealing with facilities.
