SkyTrac Systems Ltd. has an opening within their Software Test department for a Co-Op Student.
SkyTrac Systems Ltd is a specialized airborne SatCom communication solutions provider for the aviation industry which designs and develops its own hardware, embedded software and web software in-house. You will report to the Information Services & Test Manager and be exposed to a number of embedded and web software products and applications.
Period of Employment: This is a 4-month work term from May 2013 – Sept 2013
Location: Kelowna, BC
Primary Duties:
· Develop and execute test plans for web software and embedded software verification
· Develop and update test cases for existing and new system features
· Conduct formal software testing and document results
· Develop web software automated tests using Selenium
· Troubleshoot and document software anomalies
· Participate in software bug analyses
· Participate in product/feature development
Skills Required:
· Programming experience using .Net, C#, or Java is desired
· Knowledge of electronics at the circuit board level is a definite plus
· Positive work attitude
· Attention to detail
· Strong communication, planning and time management skills
Additional Skills:
· Software configuration management tools and principles (preferably SVN)
· Serial communication protocols
Education:
· Currently undertaking a degree in Electrical/Electronic, Computer Engineering or related subject
