Creating zero-knowledge SaaS applications by Chris Foster

Services that respect their users privacy are becoming more and more important with recent spy agency revelations in the news. Customers are beginning to vote with their wallets, and choose services that are inherently more secure. This talk covers how to create zero-knowledge SaaS applications, which are not capable of sharing or leaking users' data even under a legitimate warrant. We will cover the introductory concepts of zero-knowledge systems, and examine a full example of a zero-knowledge web application. Companies like Dropbox and Apple will be put under the spotlight as we examine the security of their encryption model, and discover whether or not it's a good idea to entrust them with your data. By the end of this talk, you will know how zero-knowledge SaaS applications work and be able to construct your own for whatever idea you have!

The Bike Shop Cafe and Catering Co. has warmly welcomed us back to use their restaurant as a meeting venue. There will be food, beverages and alcohol available throughout the evening.
