Bio | Derek Wilson is a Career Development Practitioner with the Neil Squire Society, a national nonprofit organization with a mission to increase the social and economic participation of Canadians with disabilities. A native of Southern Ontario, Derek has a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology (Guelph), a Master of Arts in Leadership (RRU), and professional certification in both Teaching English as a Foreign Language (VCC) and Career Development (Kwantlen). Derek’s 18-year career spans the public, private, education, and nonprofit sectors in North America, Europe, and East Asia. He currently serves as a member of the Southern Interior Employment Leadership Network, the CNIB Standing Committee on Public Education and Advocacy, and is a past Director with the National Educational Association of Disabled Students. His areas of interest include social justice, education, technology, disability, and organizational development. Derek now lives in Kelowna with his wife Kimiko and their two young daughters.
