Collective Talent — July 27th 2010

Setting Your Rates by Shane Austin

As a business owner, creative, or both, if you’ve ever wanted to publish your own tome, but the process seems too mysterious to tackle, we’ve got tips, tricks, and secrets to self publishing on Amazon for Kindle and Apple iBookstore.

By day, Deanna's a writer & Neil an animator & for Disney Interactive Worlds. After hours, their creative candles still burn so they make their own stuff, too. Recently, they’ve self published their first book for kids, Field Guide to Farts and they’re also working on a few fun projects that aim to inspire & entertain.

New Venue

We're incredibly excited to announce OKDG has lined up a new venue. The Collective is located downtown Kelowna on Bernard Street. Please see the map link in the right-hand column for the exact location and address.

The Evening

The evening is starting off with Shane Austin discussing the importance of proper billing rates and estimation.

Following Shane's presentation we're opening the floor to developers, designers, and companies to showcase thier projects and what they've been working on. This is not a sales pitch, this is a time to show other people in the Okanagan what you're talented at. Maybe it's a site design you'd like cretiqued? A web application you're trying to launch? An iPhone app? The floor is yours!

If you'd like to present work, please drop us a line and let us know! We can help with the computer / slides / projector / speakers for your presentation.

Looking forward to seeing you all there!
Shane, Derrick and Dustin
